Q&A

Q. What is it about accounting and consulting that first drew your interest?
Solving challenging business and technology problems is what got me into it. I think what has kept me in it is the variety and opportunity for continuous learning.
Q. Make a prediction, describe your vision of the business future.
People will surpass technology as the key differentiator. The most successful organizations will be those that create high-performance teams. Technology will always be important, but the people component of the solution will become even more critical.
Q. What keeps you up at night?
Nothing really; I sleep really well.
Q. What’s it like working for a company that’s been around for so long?
I’m impressed by Armanino’s continuous innovation. They have the courage to keep changing and adapting to what our clients need. Although the company has been around for a long time, it still has the feel of a very dynamic, growing, mid-sized company—much like the clients we serve.
Q. If you could go back in time and change some aspect of your life, what would that change be?
I would have eaten better in college.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
Listen more than you talk.” “Seek first to understand.” “Don’t jump to a solution,” which is a tendency of consultants.
